MEMORANDUM <br />To:Saint Anthony Village City Council <br />From:Deborah Maloney, Finance Director <br />Date:February 10, 2026 <br />Request: Public Hearing and review of 2027 Budget Calendar <br />BACKGROUND <br />Each year the city of Saint Anthony Village holds a public hearing to present the proposed budget <br />calendar to provide information to the public on the City’s budget development process and timeline, <br />and receive public input related to the steps in the budget calendar. The key dates included on the 2027 <br />budget calendar are as follows: <br />2027 Budget Calendar – Key Dates and Activities <br />January 14–16, 2026 <br />Council Goal Setting, Financial Management, and Planning <br />Council establishes guiding goals to inform policy and budget decisions throughout the year. <br />February 10, 2026 <br />Public Hearing – Budget Calendar <br />Provides residents with information on the proposed budget timeline and an opportunity for public <br />input. <br />April–May 2026 <br />Staff Meetings with Department Heads <br />Staff and department leadership review the 2027 Operating Budget and Capital Budgets. <br />June 23, 2026 <br />Council Work Session – Infrastructure and Debt Levy <br />Review infrastructure improvement schedules and resulting 2027 debt levy requirements. <br />August 11, 2026 <br />Council Work Session – Property Tax Levy and General Fund <br />Review updated proposals for the overall 2027 Property Tax Levy and General Fund Budget. <br />August 25, 2026 <br />Presentation of Proposed 2027 Budget and Property Tax Levy <br />Initial presentation of the proposed budget to the City Council. <br />September 8, 2026 <br />Public Hearing – Preliminary Budget and Levy <br />Council considers resolution setting the Preliminary 2027 Budget and Property Tax Levy.
