ANTHONY <br />2 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />3 JANUARY 27, 2026 <br />4 <br />I.5 CALL TO ORDER. <br />6 <br />7 Mayor Webster called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. <br />8 <br />II.9 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Webster invited the Council and audience to join her in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />12 <br />13 The Council observed a moment of silence in honor of Renee Good and Alex Peretti. <br />14 <br />III.15 ROLL CALL. <br />16 <br />17 Present: Mayor Webster, Doolan, Jenson, and Elnagdy. <br />18 Absent:Randle <br />19 Also Present:City Manager Charlie Yunker, Assistant City Manager Ashley Morello, Police Chief <br />20 Jeff Spiess, Public Works Superintendent Josh Moellman, and City Engineer Justin <br />21 Messner <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />25 ITEMS. <br />26 <br />27 IV.APPROVAL OF JANUARY 27, 2026, CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />28 <br />29 Motion by Councilmember Doolan, seconded by Councilmember Elnagdy, to approve the City <br />30 Council Meeting Agenda of January 27, 2026. <br />31 <br />32 Motion carried 4-0. <br />33 <br />IV.34 PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br />35 <br />36 A.Council Statement on Community Safety, Inclusion, And Immigration Enforcement. <br />37 <br />38 Mayor Webster noted that the Council first discussed this item at a worksession on January 13th <br />39 after the Council directed staff to create a webpage focused on immigration, safety, and <br />40 resources. She welcomed any additional comments from the Council on the statement as it is <br />41 drafted. <br />42 <br />43 Councilmember Elnagdy stated that she presented this proposal at the last meeting. She <br />44 referenced input received, which stated that this is a statement of policy, and asked what this <br />45 would look like in practice. She was unsure if that would be specified in the statement or <br />46 whether the information would be found somewhere else. <br />47
