Maintain communications with City Council as to land use policy <br />SPECIFIC TASKS FOR 2026 <br />1. Update Zoning Districts and Regulations, where needed, to better address contemporary development <br />patterns and demand. <br />a. Review standards in R-1 Districts to maintain intended neighborhood character, and promote <br />existing residential reinvestment <br />i. Lot Usage, Setbacks, Architectural Design, Others <br />2. Support affordable housing initiatives <br />3. Housing: Accessory Dwelling Units – Options and Impacts. <br />4. Monitor Data Center development impacts and land use impacts for urban locations. <br />5. 2050 Comprehensive Plan – preliminary preparation tasks. <br />a. Participate in joint work session to identify priorities for a request for proposal (RFP) for the 2050 <br />Comprehensive Plan <br />6. Coordinate incorporation of Climate Action Plan Goals and Strategies into appropriate Ordinance regulations <br />(Ongoing, with Sustainability and other staff/departments). <br />7. Hemp/Cannabis Businesses (Ordinances Complete 2024). <br />a. Explore Odor regulation – monitor other municipal regulations <br />Monitor Emerging Planning Issues and Address as Needed <br />
