MEMORANDUM
To:Saint Anthony Village Parks and Environmental Commission
From:Minette Saulog, Sustainability Coordinator
Date:March 2, 2026
Request:Climate Plan Informational Review – Water Focus Area
BACKGROUND
Saint Anthony Village adopted its first Climate Plan in December 2023. This Climate Plan was developed
using community input and established priorities for the City in the areas of sustainability,
environmental and climate action work. As stated in the Plan, the City’s goal is to reduce city-wide CO2
emissions by 80% and city facility CO2 emissions by 100% by 2040. The definition of city-wide includes
homes, businesses, multi-unit buildings and large commercial facilities.
The Plan is comprised of four focus areas: Energy, Transportation, Water and Waste. Each focus area is
comprised of three broad initiatives that were identified as areas for the City to work towards. Within
each initiative there are a variety of action items classified as Policy, Education and Outreach. Policy-
oriented actions are directed by PEC and City Council, while Education and Outreach actions are led by
staff.
The Climate Plan focus area actions is being implemented in key phases. In 2025, staff and PEC
concentrated on Energy and Transportation action items. In 2026, the Water and Waste actions will be
reviewed. Energy and Transportation focus areas were topics in separate PEC meetings in 2025 with
presentations highlighting the action items similar to the one being shared tonight.
The Climate Plan agenda item for tonight’s PEC meeting is an informational review of the Water Focus
Area of the plan. No action is needed, this is intended to provide Commissioners with a staff update on
the current status of these initiatives.
ATTACHMENTS
Presentation
Pervious Pavers Memo from 06032024 PEC meeting
