CITY OF SAINT ANTHONY VILLAGE <br />RESOLUTION 26-025 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION FOR THE MINNESOTA <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY'S INTENSIVE COMPREHENSIVE PEACE <br />OFFICER EDUCATION AND TRAINING (ICPOET) PROGRAM GRANT <br />AGREEMENT <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety has developed a plan to address the <br />critical shortage of peace officers in the state by funding grants to recruit, educate <br />and train qualified college graduates to become license -eligible peace officers; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, law enforcement agencies may apply for reimbursement grant up to $50,000 per <br />eligible candidate; and <br />WHEREAS, the St. Anthony Police Department identified a need for additional resources to <br />aid in the recruitment of qualified peace officers and submitted an application for <br />the ICPOET grant; and <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety has determined a grant award to the <br />St. Anthony Police Department in the amount of $34,500. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of City of Saint Anthony <br />Village, Minnesota authorizes the Police Chief to execute the Minnesota Department of Public <br />Safety's Intensive Comprehensive Peace Officer Education and Training grant agreement on <br />behalf of the City of Saint Anthony Village. <br />Approved this 24th day of March, 2026. <br />Wendy ebster, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Nicole DeDeyn, Cit0A4&jD(T <br />k <br />Review for Administration: <br />Charlie Yunker, City Manager <br />
