Page - 7 | METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
Other
The City is a member of the NineNorth / North Suburban Access Corporation which
creates local media content about the community to educate and engage its citizens. In
the past the City has used the NineNorth platform to create awareness about city
programs and projects and would utilize this as a promotional tool for the resident grant
and water conservation topics in general. This would be especially effective for
highlighting the municipal replacement project’s significant cost and energy savings in
updating to new fixtures, several of which are decades old. It also provides an opportunity
for willing residents to share testimonials regarding their participation and the impact this
program is making to support home-based efforts to maximize water efficiency.

The City will also be promoting the program through community partners such as the
Parks and Environmental Commission, Citizens for Sustainability, and the school district.
It also has a unique opportunity to reach residents by including a bag flier to be distributed
by our municipal liquor store staff for customers’ purchases, and tabling at the south store
location’s community engagement hub.

16.
