Since this Policy would also cover any commercial,office or industrial development,you are required <br />to have in your Policy a minimum number of jobs to be created and a wage floor for any development <br />you provide $150,000 or more in assistance to.We have placed the standard requirements that most <br />cities have which is one (1)full-time equivalent paid at 150%of the State minimum wage in effect at <br />the time of approval.These are meant as minimums to provide the city maximum flexibility in case a <br />commercial project it really wants is not about job creation.Also,if job creation is a goal,it does not <br />mean that they only have to create 1 job at the stated wage level.You,as a funding partner,can <br />dictate the number of jobs you want and if you want some of those jobs to be higher paying.The <br />agreed upon requirements would be incorporated into a formal,approved agreement after a public <br />hearing.
