CITY OF SAINT ANTHONY VILLAGE <br />RESOLUTION 26-044 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ENTER AN AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />METROPOLITAN COUNCIL TO ACCEPT A WATER EFFICIENCY GRANT <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council is implementing a Water Efficiency Grant Program <br />(WEGP), allowing municipalities to design and operate their own rebate or grant <br />programs to reduce community water use; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2026-2028 WEGP will be administered by the Met Council and will be <br />funded with $1,400,000 appropriated by the 2025 Minnesota Legislature using <br />pass -through funds from the Clean Water Land & Legacy Amendment; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has applied for this program and been awarded $34,000 to be used <br />between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2028; and <br />WHEREAS, WEGP funds will be used to support eligible water fixture and device <br />replacements at select city facilities and for residents through a residential rebate <br />program and low-income assistance program; and <br />WHEREAS, the Saint Anthony Village Climate Plan supports actions that reduce overall water <br />consumption, increase water efficiency and promote water saving practices. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Saint <br />Anthony Village, Minnesota, approves staff to accept the grant agreement between the City and <br />Metropolitan Council to participate in the 2026-2028 Water Efficiency Grant Program. <br />Approved this 9th day of June, 2026. <br />Wendy W bster, Mayor <br />ATTEST: MA <br />Nicole DeDeyn, City Perk <br />Review for Administration: <br />Charlie Yunker, City Manager <br />
