Metropolitan Council Update. Adam Duinick, Metropolitan Council Representative <br />District 8, presenting. This item was postponed on !he agenda. <br />B. Resolution 13-062; a Resolution Receiving the Feasibility Report and Ordering Plans & <br />Specifications for 2014 Street & Utility Improvements. Todd Hubmer, WSB & <br />Associates, presenting. <br />City Engineer Hubmer presented the feasibility report for the 2014 street and utility <br />improvement project for Penrod Lane from 37'h Avenue NE to 36"h Avenue NE, as well as <br />Edgemere Avenue from Penrod Lane to Chelmsford Lane and Wendhurst Avenue from Penrod <br />Lane to Chelmsford Lane. He advised the project consists of replacing all existing concrete <br />streets with asphalt, replacing the sanitary sewer, and replacing the existing water main with 8" <br />ductile iron pipe. He stated the project also includes upgrading the storm sewer system as well <br />as constructing biofiltration improvements in Central Park that will be partially funded with a <br />grant from Rice Creek Watershed District and will meet the City'S permit requirements for the <br />2014 project. He advised that street improvement costs are estimated at $1.1 million with 65% <br />paid by the City and 35% assessed to property owners, the sanitary sewer improvements are <br />approximately $330,000, the water main improvements are approximately $385,000, the storm <br />sewer improvements are estimated at $160,000 with $56,000 assessed to property owners, and <br />the biofiltration improvements are estimated at $177,000, for total project costs of$2.2 million. <br />He indicated the first public information meeting will be held in September or early October <br />followed by ordering of the project by the City Council in November. He stated that <br />construction is scheduled to begin in May with substantial completion in October 2014. <br />Mayor Faust requested further information about the rain garden improvements.
