30
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION
Report Date: January 4, 2005
Agenda Section: V, A
Meeting Date: January 11, 2005
ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Contract with Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation
MANAGER'S REVIEW:
The City Manager and Assistant City Manager met with representatives from GMHC to discuss
the City's continuance with the housing program and to get an update on the efforts to assist St.
Anthony residents in resolving their housing needs. As you can see by the attached the Status
Report, most of the activity centered on home improvement issues.
We also discussed the need to renew the contract with GMHC annually. Since this is a program
that benefits the residents of St. Anthony, Staff would Re to continue with it but find that the
annual renewal is somewhat redundant. We discussed the idea of changing the language to state
that the contract would be in force until such time as one or the other party decides that it no
longer serves or is unable to serve the community that with 30 days written notice, the contract
would become null and void. The GMHC staff agreed and sent via email, an electronic copy of
the contract with the changed language, which is attached for Council review and consideration.
Michael Mornson
City Manager
