IE <br />CITY OF ST.ANTIIONY <br />ORDINANCE 2005-003 <br />AN ORDINANCE REGARDING THE PARK COMMISSION BY-LAWS <br />306.01 Purpose. The City of St. Anthony does now operate and maintain public parks for the <br />benefit and pleasure of its residents. A City Parks Commission is hereby established to advise <br />the City Council regarding the promotion of the systematic, comprehensive and effective <br />development of park facilities necessary for the overall health, ability and well being ofCity <br />residents of all ages. <br />306.02 Membership. The Parks Commission will consist of ten members, seven voting and <br />three non-voting, all of whom will be residents of the City of St. Anthony. Seven of the ten will <br />be appointed by affirmative vote of a majority of the members of the St. Anthony City Council. <br />There will be three non-voting liaison members, each appointed by their respective <br />organizations. The three liaisons will be appointed by the School Board of District #1282; St. <br />Anthony Community Services; and, the Sports Boosters of St. Anthony Village. <br />306.03 Tereus of Office. Members appointed by the City Council will serve three year terms. <br />The first Parks Commissioners will be appointed as follows: <br />2 members.........................................1 year terms <br />3 members.........................................2 year terms <br />2 members.........................................3 year terms <br />Thereafter, members shall be appointed to three-year terms when the original term of office <br />expires, except where a vacancy occurs in the middle of a term. In which case, the appointment <br />will be for the duration of the unexpired term. The three liaison members will serve at the <br />pleasure of their respective organizations and can be replaced at any time. Members of the Parks <br />Commission shall be residents of the City of St. Anthony throughout their term of office. <br />306.04 Vacancies. Any of the following will cause the office of a Parks Commission member to <br />become vacated: <br />(a) Death. <br />(b) Disability or failure to serve. <br />(c) Removal of legal resident from the City. <br />(d) Resignation in writing. <br />(e) Failure to uphold the oath of office. <br />
