City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />February 8,2005 <br />Page 6 <br />1 three years. The improvements to be made are not projects with an immediate need for funding <br />2 but will be made over time as funding becomes available. <br />4 Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember'Thuesen, to amend ordinance <br />5 Section 610 - Water, Subdivision 1#610.02 to reflect a 2005 water rate of $1.83 per '100 cubic feet <br />6 and to approve language to the ordinance to increase water rates in 2006 and 2007 by $0.05 for <br />7 non-recurring maintenance funding. <br />Motion carried unanhnously. <br />1o1 <br />11 G. Mayor Faust indicated that interviews were conducted prior to the Council meeting for a <br />13 Planning Commissioner member. RS, <br />21, City Manager Morrison reported the following: <br />22 February 15 Planning Commission meeting has been cancelled due to the fact that several <br />23 projects are not ready for presentation. Thus, there are no issues to consider at the <br />24 planned February 22 Council meeting, except for the second readings of the ordinances <br />25 read at this meeting. Ile noted there will be many events in the next few months. He <br />26 proposed the possibility of canceling the next Council meeting of February 22. The <br />27 Council agreed. <br />28 ® Requests have been received to complete a citywide automated water reading installation. <br />29 ® Considering presenting a new financial plan for 2006. <br />30 <br />31 Councilmember Thuesen had no report. <br />32 <br />33 Councilmember Gray stated he attended the Leadership Conference by the Minnesota League of <br />34 Cities for newly elected officials recently. IIe commented it was good to network with elected <br />35 officials from other communities. <br />36 <br />37 Councilmember Stille said he attended a Kiwanis meeting on Jan. 26 where Len Pratt was the <br />38 speaker. He spoke to the issue of the residential component of Silver Lake Village. He <br />39 mentioned the building under construction that could possibly be medical in nature. <br />40 Councilmember Stille said he attended the Family Services Collaborative, funded by Hennepin <br />41 County, on Jan. 27. This program promotes programs to help families and children excel in <br />42 school systems. He stated he attended a program at Ehlers on February 3 and heard Mr. <br />43 Morrison speak regarding the development of Silver Lake Village. This put the project into <br />44 perspective of how complicated the development was. Be also noted that on February 2 was the <br />45 Last Blue Ribbon Finance Committee meeting with the school district.
