CITY OI'' ST. ANTHONY <br />I3 SOL,UTION 05-061 <br />A RESOLUT[ON TO RECOGNIZE THE 20"' ANNIVERSARY <br />OFTHE SISTER CITY RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN <br />SALO, FINLAND AND ST. ANTHONY, MINNESOTA <br />WHEREAS, in November, 1985, the Cities of Salo, Finland and St. Anthony, Minnesota <br />recognized each other as sister cities; and <br />WHEREAS, this relationship has produced many opportunities for cultural, educational, <br />governmental and social understanding for all citizens; and <br />WHEREAS, this has put a human face and understanding on two far away communities; and it <br />has focused our vast similarities, goals and sense of common good; and <br />WHEREAS, by this beneficial mutual understanding and cooperation, which is so desperately <br />needed in today's world, and <br />W1IF,REAS, that these two communities universally embrace the concept and tenets of the <br />sister city program and goals; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2005 we celebrate with the cities of Salo, Finland acrd St. Anthony, Minnesota, <br />our 20"' Anniversary as Sister Cities. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of St. Anthony that <br />we recognize the 20"' Anniversary of the Sister City relationship between Salo, Finland and St. <br />Anthony, Minnesota. <br />Adopted this 9"' day of AuLmsi, 2005. <br />ATTEST: _ <br />City Clerk <br />Reviewed for Administration: <br />Mayor <br />City Manager <br />W <br />
