MOVEMENT THROUGH THE SYSTEM: <br />72 <br />A. Public Works Director and Supervisor conduct evaluation with checklist to determine <br />whether or not individual is qualified to move to the next appropriate step and then so <br />inform employee. <br />B. If employee disagrees with decision with justification, the employee: should then contact <br />the Assistant to the City Manager/Management Assistant. <br />C. The Assistant to the City Manager/Management Assistant will examine both sides and <br />make a recommendation to the City Manager who in turn will make a determination. <br />D. The employee may also utilize the formal grievance procedure included in the Public <br />Works Labor Agreement. <br />* When placing new hires at a step within this plan, previous applicable experience will be taken <br />into consideration so that new employees are appropriately placed. <br />6 <br />
