He thanked all of the officers. <br />4 <br />5 Mayor Faust stated when reading the department reports and now hearing those reports he is <br />6 amazed at the quantity and quality of work the departments do. Attention to detail, cooperation <br />7 with each other, and a can -do spirit are shown in all of the departments. <br />8 <br />9 Mr. Malenick stated Officer Kevin Cardinal is instrumental in bringing together and reviewing <br />10 the necessary information for grants. He presented Mr. Cardinal with a certificate. <br />11 <br />12 VI. GENERAL POLICY BUSINESS* OF THE COUNCIL, <br />13 None. <br />14 <br />15 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS. <br />16. City Manager Mornson reported the following: <br />17 • Thank you to the department heads for showing up and Mayor Faust for his words. <br />18 e He will be participating in the Junior Exchange Program, discussing city government <br />19 with a third grade class at Wilshire Elementary. <br />20 e He attended a seminar last week, which discussed lean government. <br />21 He is looking for two Council members to sign up for the Comp Planning Task Force, <br />22 which starts May 8 for six meetings. <br />23 9 There will be a City watch demonstration at 6:15 p.m. on April l l where goals will be <br />24 discussed. <br />25 0 He will be attending the legislative update this week. <br />26 <br />27 Councilmember Thuesen stated he is so impressed with the professionalism of each department. <br />28 He added he is proud to represent City residents. He would like to be considered for the Comp <br />29 Plan Task Force. <br />30 <br />31 Councilmember. Horst stated he has never been more proud of those working for the City and <br />32 thanked them. He attended the first village Fest meeting last week, noting they are in need of <br />33 volunteers for the Fest which takes place the first week of August. The next meeting will be <br />� g <br />34 April 19 at 7:0.0 p.m. at City Hall. He spent time earlier this afternoon with the St. Paul Public <br />35 Arts Group which is working with the Sister City Foundation to host the MN Rocks Symposium <br />36 this. spring. He handed out MN Rocks bookmarks to Council and noted they are available at <br />37 coffee shops and the front desk. Mayor Faust asked the Fest contact for volunteers to call. <br />38 Councilmember Horst replied they can contact Kim Moore -Sykes at City Hall. <br />39 <br />40 Councilmember Stille thanked all of the department heads and asked if reports were available to <br />41 the public. Mr. Morrison replied they can be put on the website and the public may receive a <br />42 hard copy from City Hall. <br />43 <br />44 Mayor Faust indicated that on March 21 he attended the Mississippi water Management meeting <br />pp g g <br />45 with Council members from Minneapolis and St. Paul and from the -Minneapolis Parks Board. <br />46 <br />8 <br />
