Resolution 06053; Approving a Conditional Use Permit for 2922 Pentagon Drive for a 9 Body Tanning Salon. -- 10 11 Mayor- Faust welcomed Planning Commissioner Stromgren to the meeting and explained he is 12 standing in for Commissioner Heath Gaylon who was called out of town. 13 14 Commissioner Stromgren reviewed the proposal for the Conditional Use Permit for 2922 15 Pentagon. Drive for a tanning salon to be operated by Deborah Tomberlin who is a resident of the 16 Village. Tanning salons are a permitted conditional use under Section 1635.03(k) of the, zoning 17 code. The Planning Commission reviewed the application the month before during a concept p 18 review. There were very few changes to the inside of the building and only a change of signage 19 falls within the signage plan for the shopping center. The Planning Commission recommended 20 approval of her plan sub j ect to the following conditions: that Ms. Tomberlin follow the shopping 21 center signage plan including colors and area; that she complete reviews with City staff, fire and 22 building inspections; and that she operate according licensure requirements of the State. 23 24 Mayor Faust invited Ms. Tomberlin to address the City Council to answer questions. Mayor 25 Faust asked if the hours of operation were adequate for her business. Ms Tomberlin assured the 26 Mayor that the hours are appropriate for the needs ofp otential customers. 27 28 Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Thuesen, to approve. Silver Lake Road/37th Avenue. Tony Heppelmann,, WSB vresentina,. 37 38 Mayor Faust welcomed Craig Twinem from Hennepin County to the meeting. Mr. Twinem 39 introduced the members of the project team looking at the 37th Avenue NE at Silver Lake Road 40 Lane Configuration project. The project team consisted of Mike Mornson, City Manager; -Jay 41 Hartman, Director of Public Works; Dan Solar and Peter Lemke, Ramsey County; Tony 42 Heppelmann,and Dan Falkner, Consultants; and Ross Jentink, EIT. 43 44 Mr. Twinem recapped the February 14, 2006 appearance before the Council seekingpreliminary Y 45 layout approval for the reconstruction of Silver Lake Road. At that time, the Council voiced a 46 number of questions and concerns on the intersection of 37t` Avenue and Silver Lake Road.
