City Council Regular Meeting Minutes October 24, 2006 Page 3 1 one class and recognized how anxious the students were to start class on time. Sergeant John 2 Mangseth and Mayor Faust handed out certificates to the graduates. 3 4 Chief Ohl noted this was a unique group of people interested enough in law enforcement and the 5 community to attend seven Thursday classes for a total of 21 hours. He stated this was an 6 opportunity to meet some very nice people interested in the community. Chief Ohl recognized 7 Officer John Mangseth, Officer Tressa Sunde, and Reserve Lieutenant Carolyn Quick for doing 8 the hard up front work it took to put the course on. He mentioned they not only did the up -front 9 work, they also taught the classes. 10 11 Councilmember Gray reported he stopped in and was impressed at what a happy group the 12 students were. He stated he noticed everyone was very interested in this course. He thanked the 13 officers and the citizens for taking part in this opportunity. Councilmember Gray stated this was 14 a great course for the first time around. 15 16 Mayor Faust pointed out Council and the audience saw three diverse multi generational groups 17 recognized. He stated this is not seen everywhere and encourages others to step up to the plate. 18 Mayor Faust stated everyone should be proud of them, as it is not what one is paid for, it is what 19 one does, and the heart and soul that goes into it. Mayor Faust thanked everyone from the 20 bottom of his heart for what they give to the community. 21 22 III. CONSENT AGENDA. 23 A.
