Copies of the plan
have been posted on the City's Website, and a public "open house" on the plan was held
on Wednesday, November 8. The next steps in the formal approval process are:
L Planning Commission: Informal review and comment.
2. City Council: Informal review and comment. Resolution approving distribution of
the plan to adjacent and affected units of government.
3. Adjacent Cities, the School District, Watersheds and Counties: Formal review
and comment. Up to six months.
4. Planning Commission: Formal approval of the plan.
5. City Council: Preliminary approval of the plan subject to approval by the
Metropolitan Council. Authorizes submittal of the plan to the Metropolitan Council.
6. Metropolitan Council: The Metropolitan Council has 120 days to review the plan
for consistency with its regional system plans.
7. City Council: Formal adoption of the plan, assuming prior approval from the
Metropolitan Council.
I call you attention to page 2-18 through 2-24, which describe the proposed changes to
the Land Use Plan as it pertains to the Kenzie Terrace District. This is the only notable
issue in the plan, in my opinion.
I will be in attendance at your meeting on November 21 to summarize the process and the
plan, and to answer, questions.
14800 28th Avenue North • Suite 940 • Plymouth, Minnesota • 55447
phone 763/476-6010 • fax 763/476-8532
E-mail• mfra@mfra.com
27
