City Council Regular Meeting Minutes January 23, 2007 Page 11 Councilmember Gray replied nomination forms would be available at City Hall and distributed to various organizations. Mayor Faust reported Council and City Staff attended a retreat and goal setting session on January 11-12, 2007. I -Ie indicated the results would be reported by the City Manager next month. 9 Mayor Faust stated the City Manager, the St. Anthony Police Chief and he attended a productive 10 meeting with the Mayors and City Managers of Falcon Heights and Lauderdale on January 16, 11 2007. He reported Falcon Heights and Lauderdale are pleasantly satisfied with the level of 12 service they receive from the St. Anthony Police Department. Mayor Faust stated this is a classic 13 example of three separate governments working together to get more bang for the buck for the 14 citizens 15 16 Mayor Faust reported he attended the League of Minnesota Cities Board meeting on January 18, 17 2007. 18 19 Mayor Faust reported he attended the League of Minnesota Cities Public Relations Committee 20 meeting on January 22, 2007. 21 22 Mayor Faust reported he attended the Middle Mississippi Water Management Organization 23 (MWMO) retreat on January 23, 2007. He stated this is a good time of year to plan for the 24 future and the MWMO is a partner with the Cit of St. Anthony. 25 26 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM 27 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items not 28 on the regular agenda. 29 30 Hearing none, Mayor Faust moved forward with the agenda. 31 32 IX. INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS. 33 Mayor Faust stated he received an email from Salo Finland asking St. Anthony to send a 34 delegation to meet with them and their sister city of Rzhev, Russia in June 2007. Mayor Faust 35 reported Councilmember Stille and Mr. Jay Hartman would represent St. Anthony. He 36 mentioned the Salo, Finland school of Moisio would visit St. Anthony High School in May 2007. 37 38 Mayor Faust asked for a motion to authorize Councilmember Stille and Public Works Director 39 Hartman to visit Salo, Finland on the week of June 10, 2007. 40 41 Motion by Councilmember Horst, seconded by Councilmember Gray to authorize 42 Councilmember Stille and Public Works Director Hartman to visit Salo, Finland the week of 43 June 10, 2007. 44 45 Motion carried. 4 ayes, 0 Nays, I Abstention (Councilmember Stillel I 11
