City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />April 24, 2007 <br />Page 3 <br />VI. GENERAL POLICY BUSINESS OF THE COUNCIL <br />A. Resolution 07-040; Appointment of Road Reconstruction Task Force <br />6 City Manager Morrison stated the membership on the Road Reconstruction Task Force includes: <br />7 Jeff Fahrenholz, Tom Fahrenholz, Rosemary Franzese, Mark Grimes, Bernard Gulachek, Allen <br />8 Otte, Brian Rude, and Bill Sauer. He explained this task force would study the use of asphalt <br />9 versus concrete reconstruction on St. Anthony streets. He mentioned four meetings would be <br />10 held: May 17, June 18, Aug 13, and Sept 17, 2007. <br />11 <br />12 Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Thuesen, to approve Resolution <br />13 07-040; a Resolution Appointing the Members of the Road Reconstruction Task Force. <br />14 <br />15 Councilmember Gray commented he appreciated the people who stepped forward to be on task <br />16 forces. He stated it is a great way to express feelings and learn first hand the process involved. <br />17 He stated volunteering takes time and he is interested to hear what they report to the Council. <br />18 <br />19 Mayor Faust pointed out that Council members Horst and Thuesen would serve on the Road <br />20 Reconstruction Task Force also. <br />21 <br />22 Motion carried unanimously. <br />23 <br />24 B. Ordinance 07-002; Mayor and Councilmember's Salaries, Section 200.12 (First <br />25 Meetin <br />26 <br />27 Mayor Faust reported the Mayor and Councilmember's salaries were discussed during the Goal <br />28 Setting Retreat held January 11-12, 2007. He stated the last increase was effective January 1, <br />29 2006. He explained the increase in salary for mayor and council and be effective January 1, <br />30 2008. Mayor Faust stated the stipend for the H.R.A. meeting would be eliminated at the final <br />31 reading of the ordinance by an H.R.A. resolution, effective December 31, 2007, <br />32 <br />33 Mayor Faust explained the Mayor's salary would go from $550.00 to $625.00; Mayor Pro -Tem <br />34 from $495.00 to $563.00 and Councilmember salary from $440.00 to $500.00. <br />35 <br />36 Mayor Faust stated this must be pressed forward or they would not get done. He stated some <br />37 cites pay for other meetings and make them less transparent; St. Anthony does not. He explained <br />38 the pay includes all meetings they attend in addition to City Council Meetings. Mayor Faust <br />39 listed several of the meetings attended by the Mayor and Council on a monthly meeting. <br />40 <br />41 This is the first of three readings. <br />42 <br />43 Motion by Councilmember Thuesen, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to approve the first <br />44 reading of Ordinance 07-002, Mayor and Councilmember's Salaries, Section 200.12. <br />45 <br />46 Motion carried unanimously. <br />3 <br />
