PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) is sponsoring a unique, <br />nationwide crime and drug prevention program on August 1, 2007, called <br />"National Night Out"; and <br />WHEREAS, the "241t' Annual National Night Out" provides a unique opportunity for St. <br />Anthony to join forces with thousands of other communities across the country in <br />promoting cooperative, police -community crime and drug prevention efforts; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony plays a vital role in assisting the St. Anthony Police <br />Department through joint crime and drug prevention efforts in St. Anthony and is <br />supporting "National Night Out 2007" locally; and <br />WHEREAS, it is essential that all citizens of the City of St. Anthony be aware of the <br />importance of crime prevention programs and impact that their participation can <br />have on reducing crime and drug abuse in the City of St. Anthony; and <br />WHEREAS, police -community partnerships with neighborhood safety, awareness and <br />cooperation are important themes of the "National Night Out" program. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, we, the St. Anthony City Council, do hereby call upon all citizens of the <br />City of St. Anthony to join the St. Anthony Police Department and the National Association of <br />Town Watch in supporting "24`t' Annual National Night Out" on August 7, 2007. <br />FURTHER, LET IT BE RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE ST. ANTHONY CITY COUNCIL, do <br />hereby proclaim Tuesday, August 7, 2007, as "NATIONAL, NIGHT OUT" in the City of St. <br />Anthony. <br />Mayor <br />July 24 2007 <br />Date <br />
