Below please find a list of the projects and their current status.
1. 2007 Street Reconstruction Project
It is anticipated that by the time we meet on August 14, all underground utility work; storm sewer,
water main, and sanitary sewer improvements will have been completed on the 2007 street
reconstruction project.
Reconstruction of Pahl Avenue, Roosevelt Street, and 39°i Avenue should be nearing completion
and be ready for installation of curb and gutter. Construction of 27°i Avenue will continue for the
next week and a half, as well as repairs to Highcrest Road, 37°i Avenue, Chandler Drive, and Foss
Road. We also anticipate that Old Highway 8 will be paved within the next week.
By the end of August, curb and gutter should be on all streets within the 2007 street reconstruction
project and be ready for paving. Upon completion of Pahl Avenue, Roosevelt Street, and 27°i
Avenue, driveway removal, restoration of driveways and paving of the alleys will be undertaken.
2. Foss Road Lift Station
The contractor anticipates beginning the Foss Road Lift Station the week of August 13. This work is
anticipated to take approximately two months to complete, and coordination with Met Council and
utility providers has been completed. This will disrupt traffic on Chandler Drive and Foss Road.
3. Silver Lake Road
'free removal along the west side of Silver Lake Road to accommodate the private utility installation
is anticipated to begin on August 15 and continue through August 30. Comcast is anticipated to
begin installation of their utilities under the proposed new curb line of Silver Lake Road on August
8, 2007. Comcast is anticipated to take up to 2Yz months to complete their work.
Xcel Energy and Centerpoint Energy are anticipated to start relocation of the gas main and the
relocation of overhead power lines to underground beginning in September of 2007. It is anticipated
that most utility work will be completed using directional boring techniques, with minimal
disturbances along the corridor. However, there will be locations where transformers, distribution
hubs, and handholds will need to be located to provide service to the adjacent residents and to
provide access for maintenance. The utility companies will restore the areas disturbed to a minimal
level. This minimal level will be adequate to prevent erosion and maintain access through the winter
months, anticipating that all areas disturbed will be completely disturbed again for the complete
reconstruction of Silver Lake Road beginning in April or May of 2008.
39
