The City's budget allows for $2,000,000 to be spent every year on the reconstruction of
streets, sanitary sewer, water main, and storm sewer replacement. Additional improvements
within the city, such as lift stations, force mains, water treatment plants, and City building
repairs are paid for out of a separate budget.
For the purposes of presenting street reconstruction financial data, only the current $1,030,000
annual budget for street reconstruction will be discussed. It is assumed that the same length of
roadways will be reconstructed in the same amount of time (currently planned for 14 years to
complete all street reconstruction). The costs for water main, storm sewer, and sanitary sewer
would remain the same.
Table 2 — Annual Street Reconstruction Breakdown
3
Equivalent Average Street Length (Bituminous)
3,700 feet / year
c o
E
Total Street Length Remaining in CIP
51,300 feet
U .-
°
Total CIP Reconstruction Time (Bituminous)
14 years
Street Reconstruction Task Force Findings Report
November 13, 2008
WSB Project No. 1626-03
