City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />November 13, 2007 <br />Page 10 <br />Councilmember Stille mentioned that Kiwanis calendars were recently delivered to residents by <br />the Builders Club (61i to 8°' Grades), Key Club (9°' — 12`x' Grade) and K -Kids. He reported the <br />Kiwanis meet three times per month and new members to mentor kids are always welcome. <br />5 Councilmember Stille reported that on November 4, 2007, he attended a Sister City Association <br />6 meeting, where he and Jay Hartman gave a presentation on their trip to Salo, Finland. He <br />7 encouraged residents to get involved with this organization. <br />9 Mayor Faust reported that on October 27, 2007, he thanked Chandler Place for being in business <br />10 for 40 years in St. Anthony. He thanked the managers and directors of that corporation. <br />11 <br />12 Mayor Faust reported that on October 30, 2007 Council met with School District 282 at a <br />13 quarterly joint meeting. <br />14 <br />15 Mayor Faust reported that on November 4, 2007 he attended the Sister City Association meeting. <br />16 <br />17 Mayor Faust reported that on November 7, 2007, he attended the Chamber of Commerce Board <br />18 meeting. He commented that this year they would sponsor a local family or families in crisis. <br />19 <br />20 Mayor Faust reported that on November 10, 2007, he dedicated Sheridan Park's Veteran's Park <br />21 behind the Grain Belt Brewery in Minneapolis. <br />22 <br />23 Mayor Faust reported that on November 13, 2007 the MWMO approved the 2008 budget of $1.2 <br />24 million. He commented that the Water Reuse Project requires partners for cost sharing. <br />25 <br />26 Mayor Faust encouraged businesses and property managers to attend the snow and ice removal <br />27 training for parking lots and sidewalks. <br />28 <br />29 VIIl. COMMUNITY FORUM <br />30 <br />31 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />32 are not on the regular agenda. <br />33 <br />34 Mr. Jim Schluender, 2708 27°1 Avenue, addressed the street rebuild on 27°' Avenue and stated he <br />35 informed staff that the new curb and gutter is about three to four inches higher than it was <br />36 previously, resulting in drainage issues. He stated that with the sidewalk essentially flat, <br />37 drainage would become an issue in the spring. He stated he would like this corrected before <br />38 winter. <br />39 <br />40 Mayor Faust questioned if staff answered him and visited the location. <br />41 <br />42 Mr. Schluender replied staff responded that they would look at this next spring. <br />43 <br />44 Mayor Faust suggested Mr. Schluender and staff get together and look at this area together. <br />45 <br />46 IX.
