Canvass Election Results from the November 6 2007 Election <br />Mayor Faust called the Canvassing Board to order at 7:03 p.m. <br />7 City Clerk Suciu reported that St. Anthony held its municipal election on November 6, 2007 for <br />8 Mayor and two Council member seats. She reported Mayor Faust received 486 votes for Mayor, <br />9 Hal Gray received 461 votes for Council member, and Jim Roth received 464 votes for Council <br />10 member. She reported a ten percent voter turnout. <br />11 <br />12 Mayor Faust closed the Canvassing Board at 7:05 p.m. <br />13 <br />14 Motion by Councilmember Thuesen, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to approve the 2007 St. <br />15 Anthony general election results for Hennepin and Ramsey Counties. <br />16 <br />17 Motion carried unanimously. <br />18 <br />19 VI. GENERAL POLICY BUSINESS OF THE COUNCIL <br />20 <br />21 A. Ordinance 07-005; Single Sort Recycling (Final Reading) <br />22 <br />23 City Manager Mornson presented the third and final reading for single sort recycling in the City <br />24 of St. Anthony. IIe reported that reading one was held October 9, 2007 and reading two was <br />25 held on October 23, 2007. He stated the approval would make Single Sort Recycling permanent. <br />26 <br />27 Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to approve Ordinance 07- <br />28 005, an Ordinance approving Chapter 555 of the City Ordinance, Single Sort Recycling, Final <br />29 Reading. <br />30 <br />31 Motion carried unanimously. <br />32 <br />33 B. Resolution 07-072. 2008 Contract with Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation <br />34 Authorizing the Annual Contribution to the Revolving Loan Fund and the Housing <br />35 Rehabilitation Fund <br />36 <br />37 City Manager Mornson reported, the City of St. Anthony agreed to join the Greater Metropolitan <br />38 Housing Corporation (GMHC) of the Twin Cities in June 2002. He stated that in joining this <br />39 organization, the City of St. Anthony initially paid $5,000 for six months. He indicated that in <br />40 2003, the City paid $10,000 and from 2004 to 2007, the city paid $12,500 per year. He directed <br />41 Council to a memo from Finance Director Roger Larson, which explains the payments in greater <br />42 detail. <br />43 <br />44 City Manager Mornson reported that in September 2002, GMHC staff and City Staff discussed a <br />45 revolving loan program, which would give residents the opportunity to make home <br />46 improvements. He stated the City Council approved the use of $100,000 of HRA funds for the <br />2 <br />
