25 <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: February 20, 2008 <br />TO: Mike Mornson, City Manager <br />FROM: Roger Larson, Finance Director <br />ITEM: 2008 COMMUNITY CENTER BUDGET <br />In November, the City Council and the St. Anthony -New Brighton School <br />District renegotiated the rental lease for their portion of the Community Center. <br />Beginning in 2008 the annual lease payment was set at $125,000.00. <br />The purpose of the rent increase was to offset increased costs for utilities, <br />maintenance and general operation of the building. <br />The 2008 Community Center budget was discussed and reviewed with the City <br />Council prior to finalizing the new agreement with the School District. After <br />approval of the agreement, revenues were increased by $25,000.00. At that time, <br />Staff had not identified how the funds would be best allocated in the Community <br />Center budget. <br />The Public Works Director revisited the budget and is recommending a revision <br />in the maintenance and repair/ building budget to include the $25,000.00. <br />Recommendation: <br />Council approves Resolution 08-020; Amending the 2008 Community Center <br />expenditure budget to $213,200.00. <br />
