Only one (1) non-commercial sign with a maximum sign area of <br />six (6) square feet per surface with a total area of twelve (12) <br />square feet all sign area surfaces will be permitted per lot. Signs <br />may not have any surface area or structural member closer than <br />ten (10) feet to a side lot line or sited in a public right-of-way or <br />public easement. <br />a The following types of signs are not permitted in residential zoning <br />districts: <br />Awning signs <br />ii. Balloon signs <br />iii. Canopy signs <br />iv. Flashing signs <br />V. Marquee signs <br />vi. Pole signs <br />vii. Pylon signs <br />viii. Shimmering signs <br />(2) R-3 and R-4. Each multiple dwelling complex (nine (9) or more units) <br />allowed one freestanding sign identifying the complex. The sign may not <br />exceed fifty (50) square feet in sign surface area. The sign structure, <br />including the sign surface area, may not exceed one hundred -fifty (150) <br />square feet in area. The highest point of the sign may not be more than ten <br />(10) feet above ground level. <br />(3) Each church, temple, or synagogue located within the corporate limits of <br />this City, subject to approval of size, location and type by the City <br />Manager, may construct and maintain a maximum of three (3) directional <br />signs on municipal rights-of-way. Not more than one (1) such sign may be <br />installed or maintained at any intersection. <br />(4) Each of the following may installed and maintain one (1) ground sign <br />subject to the provisions of Section 1400.01 on the property to which the <br />sign pertains: <br />(a) Schools and publicly owned facilities listed in Section 1615.02(b) <br />and (c); and Section 1616.02(b) and (c). <br />(b) Churches, temples, synagogues, and City buildings listed in <br />Section 1615.03(a) and (e); and Section 1616.03(b). <br />15 <br />71 <br />
