May 20, 2008 <br />Infrastructure n Engineering ® Planning o Construction <br />The Honorable Mayor, City Council, and Staff <br />City of St. Anthony Village <br />3301 Silver Lake Road NE <br />St. Anthony, MN 55418 <br />Re: City Engineer's Update for May 2008 <br />W SB Project No. 1065-22 <br />Dear Honorable Mayor, City Council and Staff: <br />701 Xenia Avenue South <br />Suite 300 <br />Minneapolis, MN 55416 <br />Tel: 763 5414800 <br />Fax: 763 541-1700 <br />This letter is intended to provide you with an update on the current status of ongoing City projects. <br />Outlined below please find a list of the projects, along with the current status of each project and the <br />activities anticipated to be completed in the upcoming months: <br />I. 2007 Street Reconstruction Project <br />The 2007 street reconstruction and Foss Road Lift Station improvements were considered <br />substantially complete in November 2007. However, a number of punch list items remain to <br />be completed by the contractor this spring. These items include: replacement of dead sod, <br />corrections to grading and yards where settlements have occurred, repair of concrete <br />driveways, sidewalks and curb that have settled over the winter, and other issues brought to <br />our attention this spring. <br />The contractor will be in St. Anthony over the next two months to address all the punch list <br />items and to complete the street reconstruction by adding the second lift of asphalt in June. <br />Any concerns related to the construction project should be directed to me at 763-287-7182. <br />II. Silver Lake Road Reconstruction <br />Hennepin County started the reconstruction of Silver Lake Road on May 12 and anticipates <br />the completion of the reconstruction project in late fall of 2008. The contractor started the <br />project at the very south end, St. Anthony Boulevard, and will proceed to 37°i Avenue. <br />The contractor is currently replacing the City's water and sanitary sewer utilities, and <br />completing storm sewer improvements. Upon completion of the utilities, the contractor will <br />begin reconstruction of the roadway. Work will progress in this manner to the north <br />throughout the summer. Hennepin County will publish a newsletter monthly on the status of <br />the Silver Lake Road project.
