PROCL AMA TI®N <br />WHEREAS, the National Association ol"Town Watch (NA 714) is slronsoring a unique, <br />nationwide crime and drag prevention program on. August 5, 2008, called <br />"National Night Out", and <br />WHEREAS, the "25't' Annual National Night Oul"provides a unique opportunity for St. <br />Anlhonz) to join forces with thousands of other communities across the country in <br />promoting cooperative, police -community crime and drug prevention efforts; and <br />WIIERL'AS, the City of St. Anthony plays (,I vital role in assisting the St. Anthony Police <br />Department through,joint crime and drug prevention efforts inSt.. Anthony and is <br />supporting "National Night Out 2008" locally; and <br />WIlIs7ZEAS, it is essential that all citizens of the City of St. Anthony be aware of the <br />importance of crime prevention programs and impact that their participation can <br />have oil reducing crime and chug abuse in the City of St. Anthony; and <br />WHEREAS, police -community partnerships with neighborhood safety, awareness and <br />cooperation are important themes of the "National Night Out "program. <br />NOW, THERFFORE, we, the St. Anthony City Council, do hereby call upon all citizens of the <br />City of St. Anthony to join the St. Anthony Police Department and the National Association of <br />Town Watch in supporting "25°i Annual National Night Out" on August 5, 2008. <br />FURTHER, LET IT BE RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE ST'ANTHONY CITY COUNCIL, do <br />hereby proclaim Tuesday, August 5, 2008, as "NATIONAL NIGHT OUT"' in the City of St. <br />Anthony. .
