17 <br />Section 630 — ASSFISSMENTS FOR UNPAID CHARGES <br />630.01 Owner's Obligation. Property owners are responsible for all City charges levied for City <br />services and for work performed by the City because the owner has failed to perform the work as <br />required by this Code. If an owner fails to correct conditions which are in violation of airy <br />provisions of this Code after written notice by the City to do so, the City may correct the <br />conditions and charge the owner the cost and expenses of doing so. <br />630.02 Special Assessments. If an owner fails to pay the City charges within 30 days after <br />being billed for the charges, the City may levy the amount of the charges plus interest as a <br />special assessment against the property to which the charges pertain. This Section applies to all <br />charges which may be assessed under Minnesota Statutes § 492.101 and to all sewer and water <br />charges which may be assessed under Minnesota Statutes § 444.075. <br />630.03 Procedure for Assessment. Any special assessment levied under this Section will be <br />payable in a single installment. With this exception, Minnesota Statutes §§ 429.061, 429.071 <br />and 429.081 will govern the procedures for Icvying the special assessments. if delinquent bills <br />from the City are not paid as required in this Code, the City may certify the delinquent balance to <br />the County Auditor to be paid with the real estate taxes against the property served, for collection <br />as other taxes are collected. <br />6-14 <br />
