Your patience, your tolerance, your <br />training and your endurance were all tested, and on each front you <br />performed beautifully. With your help we showed the world what <br />professional peace officers can do." <br />The below listed statistics demonstrate the high level of effort and dedication <br />to traffic and community safety. <br />2,137 citations for moving violations <br />494 citations for non-moving violations <br />1,150 arrests <br />The patrol unit arrested a total of 1,150 individuals throughout the year. ©f <br />this total, 815 were traffic arrests (i.e. DAR/DAS/no insurance), 61 were <br />DWI arrests, 203 were criminal arrests (both misdemeanor and gross <br />misdemeanor), 44 were arrested for felony level offenses and 32 were <br />arrested for outstanding warrants. <br />Along with the patrol unit's day to clay <br />operations, officers participated throughout <br />the year with community oriented policing <br />programs and specialized units such as, <br />Citizens Academy, bike patrol, drug <br />recognition expert, weapons of mass <br />destruction, crime prevention, use of force, <br />firearms instructor, DARE, tactical response <br />unit and field training. <br />The combination of the patrols unit's daily activity and community oriented <br />programs allows the police and community to work together and create a <br />safe and secure community. <br />11 <br />
