�Lqqo "19h ProMe Cases <br />Pfrepare d by Capt fin Cotr neo <br />-In the year of 2008, St. Anthony experienced four bank robberies (C:YN's <br />08-2134, 08-4971, 08-6094 & 08-8391). All of these robberies occurred in <br />the northern end of the city. The department was fortunate to be able to <br />solve 3 of the 4 robberies, by arresting the suspects involved. In one of the <br />cases (08-2134), the suspect arrested was found to have been responsible for <br />5 bank robberies in the ruetro area (2 of those having occurred in 8t. <br />Anthony in 2007). This suspect was arrested after attempting to flee in a <br />motor vehicle and was then shot (by officers of assisting department), when <br />he carie out of the car brandishing a weapon. In another case (08 4971), the <br />suspect was arrested due to the infornnation received from a witness and the <br />alertness of our officers. After hearing the suspect vehicle information, <br />officers recalled having dcalt with the s"ime vehicle mrifer on the same dale. <br />A local address was checked and the suspect was located. ;search warrants <br />we re served which netted the recovery of evidence. (?rr the third incident <br />(08-6094), it was again good information received from alert c itizew'i, which <br />assisted in identifying and the arrest of the suspect. A search warrant was <br />served at a local address, where the suspect was arrested and key evidence <br />was recovered. These cases were worked in con ,junction with the <br />Minneapolis office of the 1131. The fourth case (08-8391) is still pending. <br />-Burglary of Residence (C/N 08-02.02): Officers received a call to <br />residential burglary in progress. As they arrived in the area, officers <br />observed suspect vehicle leaving and attempted to stop it. The vehicle <br />attempted to flee and chase ensued. Both suspects were arrested in <br />Columbia heights and stolen property was recovered. Again, this was made <br />possible due to the actions of an alert neighbor who reported the break in as <br />it was occurring, and was able to provide suspect vehicle information. <br />-Death Investigation (C/N 08-1522): A body was found in Central Park, <br />Investigation revealed death was accidental, caused by hypothermia. <br />Theft prom Autos (C/N's 08-1948, 08-1947 & 08-1957): Alert citizen <br />called police in reference to a disturbance in residential area. When squads <br />arrived in the area, two parties attempted to flee on foot. The 2 were <br />captured and admitted to several theft from autos which had occurred in the <br />same area the previous night. <br />13 <br />
