This project will be bid as an alternate for the Water Tower Park <br />Watermain Replacement Project and the Arbors Alley Improvement Project. The segment of St. <br />Anthony Parkway proposed for mill and overlay is rapidly deteriorating and is need of <br />immediate attention. <br />Mayor Faust noted that the proposed resolution approves plans and specifications and orders <br />advertisement for bids; the City is not required to accept the bids. <br />Motion by Councilmember Roth, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to adopt Resolution 09- <br />033; Accepting Plans and Specifications for the St. Anthony Parkway Bituminous Mill and <br />Overlay Project and Ordering Advertisement for Bids. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Hubmer reported that the Water Reuse Project and Silver Lake Road will begin in the next <br />couple of months. <br />Mayor Faust requested Mr. Hubmer to provide information to the public regarding the cameras <br />located at the Silver Lake Road / 33"' Avenue intersection. Mr. Hubmer explained that the <br />cameras act as signals to time the light changes when cars approach the intersection. There will <br />be discussion with Hennepin County on whether this is a timed intersection at the <br />preconstruction meeting for Silver Lake Road. <br />Councilmember Stille asked if the drainage on Silver Lake Road will improve when the final lift <br />is completed. Mr. Hubmer responded in the affirmative. <br />VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />City Manager Morrison reported on the following: <br />• City Council quarterly meeting with the School Board is scheduled for March 31, 2009 at <br />the school media center. <br />• A good report has been received from the League of Minnesota Cities on the City's <br />Workman's Comp Rating which is considered low risk. <br />■ City Council Members are requested to inform staff if they will be attending the <br />legislative conference on April 29`h. <br />■ Negotiations on the police contract are continuing with the cities of Lauderdale and <br />Falcon Heights. <br />• The City's Spring Newsletter will be distributed next week. <br />Councilmember Roth: No report. <br />Councilmember Stille: No report. <br />Councilmember Thuesen expressed his appreciation of the police officers that were recognized at <br />the meeting tonight and their families. He stated building new parks and improving roads are an <br />important part of the community, but the people serving on the police and fire departments, <br />
