61 <br />soccer fields will reduce congestion on the multi-purpose fields, which are already at or <br />are exceeding their capacity of use. St. Anthony Village recreational activities have <br />shown the demand will exceed available field access. Even after very successful <br />projects to expand availability and use in recent years, we still face the pleasant problem <br />of increasing demand. <br />FUND MATCHING <br />ISD #282 will be fund match contributor for this ?project, and has the support of its <br />partners. These partners include the St. Anthony Sports Boosters, the St. Anthony <br />Football Parents Club, and the St. Anthony Soccer Association and the St. Anthony <br />Baseball Association. These entities have a long history of partnering with ISD #282 <br />and the City of St. Anthony in advancing athletic facilities for the youth of St. Anthony. <br />ISD #282 would use reserve funds in order to provide the match contribution. <br />Volunteer labor from these groups will account for the demolition and removal of <br />existing facilities in both Central Park and Wilshire Park. This work will save the <br />equivalent of $8,000 for labor and refuse alone, and should be credited as a portion of <br />the match contribution. These groups' record of in-kind contributions in the form of <br />maintenance on the playing fields cannot be understated, as they have been integral to <br />the appearance and operation of the fields. <br />All partners to this Project have contributed a significant amount of volunteer <br />fundraising, maintenance and improvements to Central Park's athletic facilities. Their <br />work has led to the construction of baseball and softball dugouts, a concessions stand, <br />foul poles, electric scoreboards, and a public address system to the baseball and softball <br />fields in the park, and have been the main contributors to a press box, concessions stand <br />and ticket booth at the Stadium Complex in addition to movable soccer goals— <br />fundraising the cost of materials only because of the volunteer labor. Further, each year <br />at minimum 500 labor hours are donated for general field maintenance and <br />enhancements as in-kind contributions by these organizations. We are very proud of <br />these volunteer efforts and believe the outcomes are able to be seen in the Park's <br />appearance. ISD#282's desire to participate in such a grant is predicated on the long <br />history of support for youth and scholastic athletic facilities from its partners, which is <br />expected to continue into the future. <br />4.5 <br />
