25
Hennepin County Public Works Administration
Emergency Preparedness Division
1600 Prairie Drive
Medina,MN 55340-5421
October 7, 2010
Dear Emergency Manager,
612-596-0250, Phone
763-478-4001, FAX
763-478-4030,TDD
www.hennepin.us
This letter is to inform you that the Hennepin County Multi -Jurisdictional All -Hazards Mitigation Plan was
reviewed by FEMA based on the local criteria contained in 44 CFR Part 201, as authorized by the Disaster
Mitigation Act of 2000, and has met all the criteria for a multi -jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan. Meeting
these criteria has given us an "approved pending adoption" status.
In order for us to receive formal approval of the plan, there needs to be adoption by both Hennepin County
and the participatingjurisdictions. Emergency Preparedness will be adding the Mitigation Plan to the next
County Board's Agenda so we can receive adoption. Please review the plan and move forward to have the
plan adopted by yourjurisdiction. To insure sure that we adopt tile plan within FEMA's time limits, the
adoption process should last no longer than 3 months from today. Once yourjurisdiction has adopted the
plan, please mail/email me the documentation.
After FEMA Region V had received our adoption documentation, they will send a letter of official approval
to our office and we will then have an approved plan.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for all your hard work in helping us with the
mitigation plan adoption.
Sincerely,
Dan Bovitz
Emergency Preparedness Coordinator
Hennepin County Emergency Preparedness
1600 Prairie Drive
Medina, MN 55340
612-596-0249
daniel.bovitz@co.hennepin.mn.us
!m Gip ml Oppon uni l y Employe, Roc ycled Pnpe,
