REPORTS FROM COMMISSION AND STAFF. <br />9 <br />10 None. <br />11 <br />12 VI. GENERAL BUSINESS OF COUNCIL. <br />13 <br />14 A. Resolution 10-076; A Resolution Authorizing the Purchase of a Police Records <br />15 Management System. John Ohl, 'Police Chief, presenting. <br />16 <br />17 Police Chief Ohl provided a presentation on the proposed purchase of a police records <br />18 management system from LETG (Law F,nforcement Technology Group). He advised that the <br />19 current records management system, (ENFORS), is not responsive to issues. ENFORS has <br />20 notified staff that they will not support Windows 7, effectively representing the end of life for the <br />21 current system. Police Chief Ohl advised that the best and most cost effective option for the City <br />22 is LETG software and partnering with the City of Roseville to use resources and technology that <br />23 are currently in place. <br />24 <br />25 In response to questions of the City Council, Police Chief Ohl explained that LETG software is <br />26 used by 120 agencies in the State of Minnesota. St. Anthony will be the first hub agency. This <br />27 is possible due to the technological connection to the system used by the City of Roseville. <br />28 Police Chief Ohl provided information on the features of the LETG system and improvements in <br />29 efficiency. <br />30 <br />31 Motion by Councihnember Roth, seconded by COUnellmenlber Gray, to approve Resolution 1.0- <br />32 076; A Resolution Authorizing the Purchase of a Police Records Management System. <br />33 <br />34 Motion carried unanimously. <br />35 <br />36 Mayor l,aust requested Police Chiel'Ohl to provide information on the system promoted by the A <br />37 Child is Missing organization. Police Chief Ohl provided an overview of the system and <br />38 procedure being promoted by A Child is Missing, a nonprofit agency out of Florida. The system <br />39 is used to help in locating missing children, elderly and disabled individuals. Ile explained that <br />40 the system can be used to enhance the Nixte program the City currently utilizes. <br />41 <br />42 Mayor Faust requested au update regarding the installation of cameras in squad cars. Police <br />43 Chief Ohl stated St. Anthony was able to obtain grant funding which was used for the cameras. <br />44 They then collaborated with other convmunitics for server sharing because the money needed to <br />45 make the system usable was not fimded. The cameras will be operational and functional as of <br />46 January 2011. <br />
