As part of the plan <br />approval process, the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources, which oversees the <br />MWMO and approves the plan for the State of Minnesota, requires us to update the joint <br />and cooperative agreement. <br />The current agreement has been in effect since 2002. The five members are the Cities of <br />Lauderdale, Minneapolis, Saint Anthony Village, and Saint Paul and the Minneapolis Park <br />& Recreation Board. In 2004 and 2007, members were sent proposed changes to the <br />articles in the document and asked to review and reauthorize the agreement. Each <br />member must review and reauthorize the agreement for the watershed to move the <br />agreement and plan forward for fmal approval. A resolution has been provided for this <br />purpose. <br />The Middle Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization (DBA Mississippi <br />Commissioners: <br />Watershed Management Organization / MWMO) is asking each of its members to review <br />and approve the updated Joint and Cooperative Agreement (hereafter agreement) for the <br />Lauderdale <br />organization. We request each member return a signed resolution by the end of February <br />Karen Gill -Gerbig <br />2011 to the MWMO. <br />Minneapolis <br />Diane Hofstede <br />Attached you will find a copy of the agreement with strikeouts and underlines, a copy of <br />Minneapolis Park & <br />the Bylaws for information purposes only with strikeout and underlines, and a letter <br />Recreation Board <br />describing the changes to the agreement. <br />Scott Vreeland <br />The primary change that is proposed deals with language in Article V, Operating Budget, <br />Saint Anthony <br />Jerry Faust <br />of the agreement regarding member contributions to the operating budget. The MWMO <br />ceased requesting these funds once the general levy was in place. The revised language <br />Saint Paul <br />makes these contributions optional.
