As part of the plan approval process, the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources, which oversees the MWMO and approves the plan for the State of Minnesota, requires us to update the joint and cooperative agreement. The current agreement has been in effect since 2002. The five members are the Cities of Lauderdale, Minneapolis, Saint Anthony Village, and Saint Paul and the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board. In 2004 and 2007, members were sent proposed changes to the articles in the document and asked to review and reauthorize the agreement. Each member must review and reauthorize the agreement for the watershed to move the agreement and plan forward for fmal approval. A resolution has been provided for this purpose. The Middle Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization (DBA Mississippi Commissioners: Watershed Management Organization / MWMO) is asking each of its members to review and approve the updated Joint and Cooperative Agreement (hereafter agreement) for the Lauderdale organization. We request each member return a signed resolution by the end of February Karen Gill -Gerbig 2011 to the MWMO. Scott Vreeland The primary change that is proposed deals with language in Article V, Operating Budget, Saint Anthony Jerry Faust of the agreement regarding member contributions to the operating budget. The MWMO ceased requesting these funds once the general levy was in place. The revised language Saint Paul makes these contributions optional.
