City Manager
Morrison replied that the Over Time Budget was exceeded in December; however, the total
General Fund budget will be under.
Councilmember Stille requested City Manager Mornson pass on a resident's commendations on
the secondary snow removal to Public Works Director Jay Hartman.
Mayor Faust stated a proposal has been made to reduce commercial property taxes back to 2009
levels. He stated when you reduce one class of property tax it is pushed on to another class, and
that it may be more important now than it was in the past to express their opinion to the
legislature.
Councilmember Roth reported on his attendance at the Cable Commission meeting last week.
Meeting locations will be moved among the member cities over the next four to five months
while the new space is under construction. There will be an open house for the community once
the new space is completed in June or July of this summer.
Councilmember Stille: No report.
Councilmember Gray: No report.
Councilmember Jenson: No report.
Mayor Faust reported on his attendance at the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization
(MWMO) meeting today. He was elected Chair for 2011. He has indicated this is the last year
he will serve as Chair, as 93.4% of the MWMO is in Minneapolis. He reported that Six Cities
Watershed Management Organization will be dissolving. The MWMO Board discussed the
ramifications if the organization were to take in the cities of Fridley, Columbia Heights, and
Hilltop.
Mayor Faust reported that he and City Manager Morrison attended the annual meeting with the
mayors, administrators, and police chiefs of Lauderdale and Falcon Heights. The cities are
happy with the service provided by St. Anthony.
VIII.
