City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />October 11, 2011 <br />Page 5 <br />B. Presentation of the Third Quarter Goals Jay Hartman Interim City Manager, presenting_ <br />Interim City Manager I lartman presented the third quarter goals update and stated that for the <br />first quarter, progress was made on 16 action items and during the second quarter, progress was <br />made on 26 action items. He advised that during the third quarter, progress has been made on <br />the following goals: <br />8 • The single hauler discussion continues. <br />9 • The turf maintenance workshop was completed in July. <br />10 • Annual review of utility rates is ongoing through the end of the year. <br />11 • 39°i Avenue sidewalk was completed and bonds for the project were sold. <br />12 • Veteran's Memorial groundbreaking completed and a ribbon cutting ceremony is planned <br />13 for November 11, 2011. <br />14 • Farmer's Market was held at the shopping center this summer and will be held at City <br />15 Hall this winter. <br />16 • Staff is working with LaNel on a 100 -unit apartment development west of their current <br />17 location. <br />18 • Both liquor stores joined Facebook. <br />19 • Replacement of the siren system was completed. <br />20 • Transition plans are underway for replacing the Finance Director who will be retiring <br />21 January ls'. <br />22 • The feasibility report was accepted and plans and specifications were authorized for the <br />23 2012 levy and street improvement project. <br />24 <br />25 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />26 <br />27 Interim City Manager Hartman — No report. <br />28 <br />29 Councilmember Jensen reported that the Historical Society is proposing to submit 3-5 St. <br />30 Anthony history books on a consignment basis. <br />31 <br />32 Councilmember Roth — No report. <br />33 <br />34 Councilmember Stille reported on his attendance at the following: <br />35 • October 5th lunch with several representatives from Finland, Germany, Hungary, and <br />36 Russia. <br />37 <br />38 Mayor Faust — No report. <br />39 <br />40 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />41 <br />42 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that <br />43 are not on the regular agenda. <br />44 <br />45 Hearing none, Mayor Faust moved forward with the agenda <br />46 <br />5 <br />
