M <br />CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION 11-067 <br />RESOLUTION FOR APPROVAL OF THE REQUEST FROM GREG KOZULLA, <br />KOZULLA & ASSOCIATES FOR AN AMENDMENT TO <br />THE ST. ANTHONY SHOPPING CENTER PUD TO ALLOW FOR PLANNED <br />RENOVATIONS AND THE SIGN PLAN TO ALLOW FOR THE MODIFICATION OF <br />EXISTING WALL SIGNS <br />WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was scheduled with the Planning Commission for <br />September 20, 2011 to consider approving an amendment to the St. <br />Anthony Shopping Center PUD Sign Plan as proposed by Kozulla & <br />Associates; and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant presented his request according to the requirements of the <br />City Code as found at Section 152.206 (B), REVISIONS AND/OR <br />CHANGES and 155.25, (4)(9), PERMITS, APPLICATION AND FEES; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed the proposed amendment to the Sign Plan at <br />their regularly scheduled Council meeting on September 27, 2011 and <br />tabled the request by Mr. Kozulla for further consideration by the <br />Planning Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission received and reviewed revisions submitted by <br />Kozulla & Associates at the regularly scheduled October 18, 2011 <br />meeting; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the revised <br />proposed amendment to the St. Anthony Shopping Center PUD Sign <br />Plan, which proposes to modify an existing wall signs for future <br />replacement at the tenant's discretion; increasing the area of the wall sign <br />to 3 SF per l lineal foot of business frontage, while keeping the total sign <br />area at 15% of the wall the sign is installed on; and requesting an <br />opportunity to put a monument sign at the Kenzie Terrace at some time <br />in the future, submitting design, size and placement information at that <br />time; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission received and reviewed information about the <br />proposed mill and overlay of the currently existing parking lot that was <br />constructed as part of the original shopping center in the 1960s; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Kozulla is proposing to maintain the 294 parking spaces that <br />currently exist at the Center but testified that because of the configuration <br />and layout of the parking lot, spaces will continue to vary from 8.5' to 10' <br />wide and 18' long; and <br />
