That all competent evidence of rehabilitation will be considered upon <br />reapplication. <br />§ 32.43 POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />(A) Responsibilities. The Police Department will have the duties and responsibilities given in accordance with <br />the Constitutions and laws of the United States and the State of Minnesota, this code and other official acts of <br />the city. The Police Department, under the direction of the Chief of Police, is charged with the protection of all <br />persons and property within the corporate limits of the city, and the other areas as agreed upon by the City <br />Council or required by law. The Police Department will be responsible for prevention of crimes, accidents, and <br />civil disorders, control of traffic, and general enforcement of this code and applicable statutory laws. <br />The Cihj Council of the City of Saint Anthony ordains as follows for City Licenses: <br />§ 111.002 APPLICATION. <br />(C) License Background Checks. <br />(1) Purpose: <br />The purpose and intent of this section is to establish that will allow law enforcement <br />access to Minnesota's Computerized Criminal History information for specified non- <br />criminal purposes of licensing background checks. <br />(2) Criminal History License Background Investigations: <br />The St. Anthony Police Department is hereby required, as the exclusive entity within the <br />City, to do a criminal history background investigation on the applicants for the following <br />licenses within the city: <br />Fireworks Dealer <br />Liquor Licensing <br />Pawnbrokers <br />Peddlers and Solicitors <br />Physical Culture and Health Insurance Services and Clubs <br />Second Hand Dealers <br />and any ollrer licenses the eily deems apProjnriale <br />In conducting the criminal history background investigation in order to screen license <br />applicants, the Police Department is authorized to access data maintained in the <br />Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehensions Computerized Criminal History <br />information system in accordance with BCA policy. Any data that is accessed and <br />acquired shall be maintained at the Police Department under the care and custody of the <br />chief law enforcement official or his/ her designee. A summary of the results of the <br />Computerized Criminal History may be released by the Police Department to the <br />licensing authority, including tom-City-Com3cil, the City Manager, or other city staff <br />involved the license approval process. <br />
