Johnson, Human Resource Consultant <br />Date: January 22, 2013 <br />Subject: 2013 Pay I?quity Report <br />Background: <br />The 1984 Local Government Pay Equity Act (Minnesota Statutes 471.991 to 471.999) requires that the City of St. <br />Anthony files a pay equity report with the State of Minnesota every three years. The law was instituted to eliminate <br />any sex -based wage inequities in compensation and benefits for local governments. The entire report is on <br />file in the City Clerk's office that identities the salaries for full-time and permanent part-time employees as <br />of December 31, 2012. The law requires that the City Council approve the report prior to sending it to the <br />State of Minnesota for further review. <br />After calculating the City's pay equity report for 2012, staff is very confident that the City will be in <br />compliance with the State of Minnesota pay equity mandate for the 2012 calendar year. The City will be <br />notified formally by the State of Minnesota regarding compliance later on this year after they have had an <br />opportunity to review this information. <br />Requested Action: Council approval of a resolution adopting the 2013 Pay Equity Implementation Report <br />to be submitted to the State of Minnesota Department of Management and Budget. <br />Attachments: <br />• Resolution 13-018; Approving the City of St. Anthony's 2013 Pay Equity Implementation Report <br />Slaff Pay Equity Report -January 2013.doc <br />
