ANTHONY <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 12, 2013 <br />CALL TO ORDER. <br />Mayor Faust called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />9 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Faust invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />12 <br />13 ROLL. APPROVAL OF NOVEMBER 12, 2013 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve the City <br />Council Meeting Agenda of November 12, 2013. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS <br />A. Recognition of the 2013 Citizen's Academy Graduating Class. Chief John Ohl is <br />presenting, <br />Police Chief Ohl thanked the Council for allowing the 2013 Citizen's Academy Class to graduate <br />at this Council meeting. He shared how the Council and staff have held discussions on ways to <br />engage citizens and that the Citizen's Academy is one of those ways. He said the class involves <br />a long time commitment and that he hopes the attendees thought it was worthwhile. Chief Ohl <br />shared that he will be holding another graduation at the City of Lauderdale later this evening. <br />Officer Sunde said this class includes a wonderful group of new residents who were interested in <br />learning more about the Police Department. She said the Academy allows residents to <br />understand what it is like to do our job, adding that for eight weeks attendees take time out of <br />their busy schedules and thanked everyone for their participation. Officer Sunde shared the <br />Academy's curriculum that includes a tour of the department, patrol and criminal procedures, <br />DWI and drug recognition laws, use of force, shoot/don't shoot scenarios, crime lab, and canine <br />officers. She stated this is a great program that involves a lot of participation. <br />3 <br />
