7 Mayor Faust called the special meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

I. GENERAL BUSINESS OF COUNCIL.
A. Pending Liti ag tion
The City has received notice of potential litigation from the United Stated Department of Justice
regarding a prior land use decision. The Council concludes there is a need for absolute confidentiality
regarding this threatened litigation and closes the meeting under the attorney-client exception to
Minnesota's open meeting law (Minnesota Statutes, Section 13D.05).
Mayor Faust closed the meeting at 5:31 p.m.
Mayor Faust re -opened the meeting at 6:32 p.m.
B. August 26, 2014 Agenda Items
City Manager Casey presented an amended ordinance for City Code Chapter 131.21, Drug
Paraphernalia.
By consensus, the Mayor and Council directed staff to include in the August 26, 2014 City Council
agenda for action.
C. 2015 Budget
City Manager Casey presented an overall levy document showing the estimated tax rate increase of
.42%
III. ADJOURNMENT.
Mayor Faust adjourned the meeting at 7:05 p.m.
