ANTHONY VILLAGE STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 14-060 A RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS AND AWARDING A BID FOR THE 2014 MUNICIPAL FIBER OPTIC INSTALLATION PROJECT WHEREAS, a resolution of the City Council adopted on the 22"d day of July 2014, authorized advertisement for bids for the construction of a municipal fiber optic network to connect the City's liquor stores, City Hall/police department, and Public Works building. WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement as shown on the plan for the above -referenced project, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: Contractor Total Bid AEI Construction, Inc. $203,452.95 Casterjon, Inc. $214,427.17 TelCom Construction, Inc. $253,275.14 Anderson Underground $279,146.00 TD&I Maintenance, Inc. $282,180.40 WHEREAS, it appears that AEI Construction, Inc. of Perham, MN is the lowest responsible bidder, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of St. Anthony Village: 1. Approve such improvements as are hereby ordered in the Council Resolution. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that: 1. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with AEI Construction, Inc. in the amount of $203,452.95 in the name of the City of St. Anthony Village, Minnesota for the improvement outlined in the above -referenced project according to the plans and specifications, therefore, approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. 2. The Engineer, WSB & Associates, Inc., is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next two lowest bidders shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
