WHEREAS, the Minnesota Crime Prevention Association, AAA of Minnesota and the St. Anthony
Village Police Department are sponsoring a statewide crime and drug prevention
program on August 4, 2015, called "Night to Unite "; and
WHEREAS, this is the "7`h Annual Night to Unite " in Minnesota and it provides a unique
opportunity for St. Anthony Village to join forces with hundreds of other communities
across Minnesota in promoting cooperative, police - community crime and drug
prevention efforts; and
WHEREAS, City of St. Anthony Village plays a vital role in assisting the St. Anthony Village Police
Department through joint crime and drug prevention efforts in St. Anthony Village and
is supporting "Night to Unite 2015" locally; and
WHEREAS, it is essential that all citizens of St. Anthony Village be aware ofthe importance of
crime prevention programs and the impact of their participation can have on
reducing crime and drug abuse in the City of St. Anthony Village; and
WHEREAS, police and community together promote neighborhood safety, awareness and
cooperation, are important themes of the "Night to Unite "program.
NOW, THEREFORE, the St. Anthony Village City Council, do hereby call upon all citizens of
City of St. Anthony Village to join us in supporting the 7`h Annual "Night to Unite " on August 4,
2015.
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED, the St. Anthony Village City Council, hereby proclaim Tuesday,
August 4, 2015, as "NIGHT TO UNITE" in the City of St. Anthony Village.
