A. Resolution 76-050 . A resolution Modifying the 1976 Budget.
ACTION: Recommend Approval
7 . Old Business
A. League of Women Voters "Know Your Community" booklet. We dis-
cussed this request earlier but took no action. According to
present projection there are adequate funds in the Council ' s
. contingency to pay for this if the Council determines we should.

B. Discussion of announcement type sign on corner by City Hall .
The Kiwanis Club and others have inquired about an announcement
board being installed by the City to announce public events. If
the Council feels such a project is worthwhile, I will discuss
with the Kiwanis and other civic groups the possibility of
partially funding the project.

8 . New Business
A. Sam Nilva - National Amusement Company Re : Amusement Machine
Ordinance. Mr. Nilva will be at the meeting to discuss .
9 . Communications/Petitions
A. Discussion of rescheduling December Council meetins to lst and
3rd Tuesdays to avoid having meetings between Christmas and
New Years . If we would reschedule the December meetings to lst
and 3rd, we would not have to have a meeting on December 28th or
between Christmas and New Years , when many residents , Council
members and staff are very busy. In addition, we would have a
meeting every 2 weeks for the remainder of the year, with
November having 5 Tuesdays .

• B. Public Officials Liability Policy. Because of the increased
incidents of people suing public officials personally for
actions taken etc. , I asked our insurance agent to check into
a policy for the City. I feel the premium quoted though is
very high for such coverage.

C. Letter from Senator Mondale - HEW Appropriation Bill - infor-,
mational.
ACTION: File
D. County Road Maintenance Agreement. I will bring the agreements
with me. They are identical to last years except that they
call for a $2';700 . 00 payment to the City instead of $2,500 .00
as paid last year. I should mention that our agreement with
Ramsey County for Silver Lane pays no more. If Hennepin County
paid at the same rate, -I estimate we would receive over $4,000 .

E. North Suburban Day Activity Center. If someone on the Council
would care ,-to be on the Board I will inform NSDAC of their de-
sire.

F. Memorandum of Agreement - Between City and School District
Re: Community Services transition. Attached is the memo. If
there are not corrections etc. , I would like the Council to
approve of same.
ACTION: Recommend Approval
G. Letter Curtis A. Pearson Re: representing City for special as-
sessment problem. Attached is Mr. Pearson's letter. I selected
Mr. Pearson and Mr. Drawy because of extensive work in the area
of .special assessments and the fact that they have won several
court cases recently on special assessments.
ACTION.: Recommend Approval of Retaining Mr. Pearson & Mr.
Drawy

C. Retired 1956 FWD Fire - Truck, - Larry Hamer. If we don't sell
the truck for a decent price,. Larry's memo provides a good
alternative..
ACTION: Recommend we.,:wait' until 1st of year at least before
taking any action.
