Public Hearina A. 1977 Community Development Program 8 :00 P.M. - Attached is a copy of the notice sent to Community organizations and other information. ACTION: Council 6 . Ordinances & Resolutions A. Ordinance 1976-014 - Ordinance regulating amusement devices . A revised ordinance will be available at the meeting or delivered separately. ACTION: Council 7 . Old Business A. Discussion of proposed meeting with School District 282 Board and Legislators. The School Board has met with some Legislators and discussed the recreation levy along with other concerns . They were advised by the Legislators that the most effective way to contact them is individually. Therefore, they have suggested that we not have our joint meeting with the Legislators but contact them individually. Other items of mutual concern can be discussed at the Christmas Party-or at a later meeting. - ACTION: Informational 8. New Business A. Paul Barnett - Hazelden Foundation Re: Program for City Employees not performing to capabilities because of personal problems such as Chemical Dependency. ACTION: Council B. Stop signs on 29th Avenue. Attached please find copies of two memos submitted to me by the Police Department re: the stop sign locations and speed on the street. I don't be- lieve this information or any other we have received justifies stop signs at these locations . . ACTION: Council C. fir. Bernhard M. Preussner Re: Building house on 50 ' lot at 3229 Roosevelt Street. Mr. Preussner has requested that the Staff give him a letter or some form of. written • assurance that he will be granted a building permit to build a house on a 50 ' lot at 3229 Roosevelt. We have advised him that we cannot do this as we have no way of predicting whether the zoning ordinance might be changed, etc. The zoning ordinance as is , would allow the house to be built. The staff has advised Mr. Preussner that if he bought the lot now and the ordinance was changed that he would be pro- tected by law or could probably get a variance but he insists he must have a written assurance and I don't feel that I can give him an absolute assurance without Council author- ization. . ACTION: Council 9 . Communications/Petitions A. Letter from Mrs. Helen Erickson re: North Suburban Day Acti- vity Center. I sympathize with Pers. Erickson's position, but I don't feel we can justify this expenditure for so few individuals. ACTION2 Council B. Bulletin from the Association of Metro Municipalities - attached. • ACTION: Recommend we support position re: Dutch Elm Disease control and request our Legislators to support Legislation to that effect. C. Letter from Douglas A. Hall - Res Appointment to City Plan- ning Commission. ACTION: Informational 10 . Reports A.
