• COUNCIL MINUTES
SPECIAL MEETING
November 7., 1980
The meeting was called to order at 5:15 P.M. by Mayor Haik.
Present: . Letourneau, Ranallo, Sundland, Marks and Haik.
Absent: None.
Also present: Jim Fornell, City Manager.
City Manager Fornell explained the insurance proposals for the
liquor operation, cost trends, and problems with the Dram Shop Act
coverage. He recommended the Council accept the proposal of
Alexander and Alexander with a supplemental $200,000 policy to raise
the primary limits on the liquor liability and the optional safe
coverage.
Motion by Mayor Haik, seconded .by Councilman Sundland to accept the
Alexander and Alexander proposal as submitted with the optional
liquorliability and safe coverages .
• Motion carried unanimously.
City Manager Fornell explained a .sewer problem with a profile sketch
and recommended adoption of Resolution 80-078 .
Motion by Councilman Sundland seconded by Councilman Marks to
approve Resolution 80-078 .
RESOLUTION 80-078
A RESOLUTION MODIFYING THE 1980 BUDGET
Motion-..carried unanimously.
City Manager Fornell explained the need to purchase the Minitors
now to save money. They will be paid out of the 1981 budget.
Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Ranallo
to approve purchase, up to $8,900 for Minitors, subject to passing
a reception test.
Motion carried unanimously.
The Council discussed various locations and formats for the dinner,
January 17 , 1981.
• It was decided to hold it at Arthur' s, with a selection of four
menu items.

The Council discussed various . themes -and speakers-. for the dinner but
the decision was deferred to the November 12 ,. 198.0 work session.
Mayor Haik suggested that the departmental presentations tie into
an overall theme and that the. time. limi.ts- be respected.,-for the Open. House.
Motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Letourneau
to adjourn.
Motion. carried unanimously.
Meeting adjourned at 6 : 00 P.M.
