Those present were Dave Childs , Connie Kroeplin, Carol Johnson, Don Hickerson, Larry Hamer, Lee Entner, and Ray Nelson. Before Chief Entner began the meeting with his Department , Mr. Childs gave each of the Department Heads posters and pamphlets regarding the upcoming United way campaign. Rallies will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd. Lee Entner 1 . Bill Myers has contacted the owners of the bus stop benches to seek their permission to put fire safety messages , i.e. , "Stop, Drop, Roll" , on unused benches. There are two benches available in St. Anthony now and the owners have agreed to let the safety messages be displayed on them during time periods when they do not have paid ads. 2 . Bob Lee' s status will be updated some time after today. 3 . All City employees, including the City Council, are scheduled to have Civil Defense ID photos taken September 22 and 23 . ( Councilmembers would be photographed prior to the Council meeting. ) Don Hickerson 1 . Focusing his attention on an animal control service and, also, computer options. 2 . Officer Ohl will participate in child safety days at Apache Plaza. Tours of a miniature Safety City will be given to children October 23 , 24 , and 25. 3 . The 1985 Ford squad car was sold for $3 , 100 at the recent Hennepin County auction. • Carol Johnson � . 1 .- A temporary receptionist- will begin work in the front office . on September 8th. It is expected she will be needed for 6 to 8 weeks. 2 . Mrs . Johnson is working on a resolution which will change the fee schedule for most permits , i .e. , sewer/water con- nection fees ; searches ; copies ; police/fire reports ; and coin-operated machines will. be added. Larry Hamer 1 . Mr . Hamer has employed another man through the MEED program ( salary is paid by county) . 2 . Mr . Hamer would like t-o retain Mike Ronich, who also came to the City through the MEED program. Mr. Ronich would have to learn to drive a standard transmission but is an excellent worker. (Mr. Ronich has worked for the. City for the past 6 months on the program. ) 3 . Scheduled a meeting with Mr. .Childs and Mr. Nelson to dis- cuss personnel changes within their departments . 4 . Work on the Wilson Street waterline has been completed. 5 . The waterline valves for the Stonehouse will be installed this year, the waterline itself will be installed next year. 6 . The furnace in the Fire Department will have to be either repaired or replaced. 7 . Discussion of various planning alternatives for storm water drainage will be ready for the Council' s September 22nd meeting. Ray Nelson 1 . Discussed several items concerning construction at the Stonehouse. Dave Childs 1 . The sprinkling ban will be lifted, Tuesday, September 8th. This information will be posted and placed in the Bulletin. 2 . The possibility of .surveying the residents ' attitudes con- cerning City services has been discussed with Decision 'Resources Ltd. That company proposed such a survey, by phone, - for $4 , 800 , similar to surveys completed by Rose- ville , Plymouth; Shoreview, Inver Grove Heights and others .
